The forbidden fruit in Genesis 3 is similar to fiat money

It brought needless work and death into the world when people disobeyed good moral principles by following a lie.  They were given everything else someone (God) created as a gift except for the fruit of a single tree not to eat and they misused someone else's property without their permission in the way they expressly were forbidden not merely taking it but also eating it.  This could be viewed as an act of theft or vandalism, an act of taxation.  Our of their covetous desire for one thing that should not be theirs in that manner they damaged the whole world like people today damage the environment in exchange for money.  More over like the quest for money ruins the lives of people's children they made future generations suffer in eating the forbidden fruit.  They were in a world of supply without limit but by eating the fruit they entered an environment of scarcity just as the choice to use money as a collective society brings people into a state of artificial scarcity.
